The source code for S. Cargo is available on GitHub. Instructions for building it are included in the repository.
S. Cargo is written in Python, so most of the source code is also available in the normal download. The graphical assets are editable in Blender and the GIMP - except for the first scene (the one that shows the Smidgin logo); that one is baked into the game executable, so you'll need to check out the source code from the repository to change it.
